THE INTERRELIGIOUS COUNCIL FOR PEACE TANZANIA(IRCPT) is an interfaith organization made up of a member Faith Based organization ,for the purpose of enhancing Peace and peaceful coexistence through constructive dialogue and collaborations . founded and got its first registered in1992 as the peace journey Trust . (GPJ) Founder member were three women peace activists from Christians and Muslim faith. In 1996 religious leaders agreed to establish an interreligious council and an become an Affiliate of the world conference on Religions for peace international (WCRPT), now known as Religious for peace (Rfp).
IRCPT as many other Non governmental organizations was required to re-register under the NGO Act 2002 ; therefore on the 18th July 2019 IRCPT was registered No,NGO/R2/00099

We conduct capacity building training and seminars that equip religious leaders ,women and youth of faith knowledge and skills of developing countering narratives in prevention of violent extremism (PVE) , explore early warnings conflict prevention and feedback mechanism as a measure of conflict preventation. - 04.Sports and games
We are mobilize religious leaders and to organize football matches ,games and peace marathons for friendship and brotherhood. - 05.Conferences
